2023 – Por Thozhil

  1. Por Thozhil (Sony Liv)

-One of the film which got good verdicts from the audience and even running in big screen post its OTT release
-Investigative thriller which deals with young women killing for which a senior officer is in charge along with a newly joined young cop
-Initial scenes reveal that both of them are at loggerhead but slowly when the intense of murder grows they unite
-Strong and powerful screenplay is the huge plus of this film which is well supported by the cast and crew
-If first half makes you feel this as a good movie, second half elevates it to next level with more and more twists
-A good thriller after a long time

2023 – Farhana

  1. Farhana (Sony Liv)

-Another film that got rave reviews during its theatrical run which I watched in OTT
-Plot is a different thriller based on the call centre job with a different pattern
-Aishwarya Rajesh has performed excellently as a Muslim family woman who has urge to go for work
-Selvaraghavan’s voice has performed well than him actually
-Dialogs needs a special mention as almost entire movie runs on phone conversations
-All the supporting characters have done their roles very well
-Another good film in the recent times

2023 – Good Night

  1. Good Night (Hotstar)

-Was waiting for the OTT release of this movie due to his cult status received during its theatrical run
-Plot is simple and interesting that deals about husband and wife where he suffers from snoring problem
-Casting is major key in this flick starting from Manikandan, Medha, Ramesh Thilak to Balaji Sakthivel everyone has performed really well
-Screenplay was interesting in entire first half and to some extent in second half but loses track towards the end
-Sean Roldan’s music is major plus point for the film and director was very clear on his vision which has made this a good film

2023 – Maamannan

  1. Maamannan

-Watched this movie in theatre only due to Mari Selvaraj and the hype created around Vadivelu
-The core plot is treat people equally which has been filmed with political background
-Vadivelu’s transformation is quiet different which was good to watch, but couldn’t avoid laughing even for his serious reactions
-Performance wise Fahadh has stole the entire show which is nothing new for him
-First half goes very fast whereas screenplay has nothing different in second half which thus makes it a normal commercial film
-AR Rahman has provided a excellent background score which has been highly elevated by Mari’s writing but the second half makes this an average film
