After his father’s death, Bharat Ram (Mahesh Babu) comes down to Hyderabad from London. The onus of taking the chair of his deceased father falls upon him. Bharat, who believes in values and fulfilling the promises made, sits in the chair of Chief Minister, and brings new age governance. He also falls for Vasumathi (Kiara Advani) who works in his office. This romantic affair leads to political embarrassment for the young CM as wily Varadarajulu (Prakash Raj) conspires to unseat him. What obstacles Bharat has to face in his political journey is the rest of the story.
Dialogues are the star of this entertaining political drama. An actor like Mahesh Babu who is restrained on-screen and doesn’t believe in loud performances is the perfect pick for the role. A political drama with a young and good-looking CM at the helm, what’s not to like? But you can’t help but wonder if the director did the right thing by veering away from an intense political drama to end it off with clichéd climax. Started off brightly in an otherwise normal and predictable commercial potboiler..!! 🙂
