Raja Rani (TAMIL)

???????????????????????????????????????????

Music: G.V.Prakash Kumar
Starring: Arya,Jai,Nayantara,Nazriya,Sathyaraj,Santhanam and etc.
Director: Atlee (Debut)

The album of a debut director’s film would have not fetched so many expectations like this. Atlee, best of his assistants as said by Director Shankar) comes up with a love story and hence the album has plenty of love nodes in it.

01.Hey Baby
Singers: G.V.Prakash Kumar, Gaana Bala, Aishwarya
Lyrics : Na.Muthukumar, Gaana Bala

A simple start given by violin and joined by chorus and a more stylish voice by GV makes this song to note at the very beginning. Lyrics are very fun which praises about the marriage. In the middle, the entire song takes a U-turn and gets into local kuthu style. Kudos to Gaana Bala for making this song a very interesting one and even though the style of the song changes the tempo gets maintained and increases which is a big plus.

02.Angnyaade
Sung by Shakthisri Gopalan
Lyrics by Pa.Vijay

Shakthisri gets to sing to another top notch music director. This type of song is not so often heard these days. A female solo which looks like an intro number. Shakthisri’s voice makes you get the real feel of the song. The wide usage of instruments deserves a special mention.

03.Chillena
Singers : Clinton Cerejo, Alphonse, Alka
Lyrics by Na.Muthukumar

Harmonium at the start..!! Interesting. Then techno comes and blends to heavy beats. Clinton is apt choice for rock mood of the song. Again in the middle the song changes to traditional instruments. Alka (Winner of Super Singer Junior, a talent show) sings in a good rhythm and joins to the beat and gets the song and the listeners to have a joy all over. A song on the western template but the sudden change in the middle is the difference.

04.Unnale
Sung by Vandhana Srinivasan
Lyrics by Na.Muthukumar

Vandhana, the female who sang ‘Oru Paadhi‘ from Thaandavam, sings this short but sweet melody type of song which has good lyrics and nice tune of guitar. Can be a song for montages.

05.Oday Oday
Singers : Vijay Prakash, Sasha, Shalmali Kholgade
Lyrics by Pa.Vijay

Totally different music all through the song. Interesting and cute lyrics which is very well supported by Vijay Prakash and Sasha and Shalmali. The ‘raasave and raasathi‘ lyrics and its music is a good try which appears in the film’s trailers too. Guess Nazriya will sizzle in this song.

06.Imaye Imaye
Singers : G.V.Prakash Kumar, Shakthisri Gopalan
Lyrics by Pa.Vijay

GV selects the best for him always. This time he chooses the best song to be sung in his voice. Truthful lyrics. Shakthisri almost sounds like a male when she touches the upper nodes in her singing. A soulful number.

07.A Love For Life (Musical)

A complete instrumental version of Imaye Imaye song. Can be the theme music and ends the album with a silent and scintillating music.
